Liquid Bulk
Port Klang is expected to handle 8.117 million tonnes of liquid bulk by the year 2010.
North Port (Northport)
The main commodities are refined vegetable oils, chemicals and petroleum products. Products handled by major oil companies such as Petronas and BP which are located here are diesel oil, industrial fuel and unleaded gasoline.There are two dolphin berths (No. 22, No. 23), each measuring 213 metres, for ships of up to 60,000 tonnes displacement.
South Port (Southpoint)
Liquid bulk exports handled here are palm oil, coconut oil and latex. Berths No. 1 & 2 have pipelines for export loading purposes. Each measure 177 m in length and 10.5 metres in depth, and cater to ships of up to 40,000 displacement.
West Port (Westports)
The owners’ pipes are between 250 and 1,000 metres long and are capable of transferring liquid bulk up to a maximum rate of 6,000 tonnes/hour. The use of loading arms will allow connection to vessel within 10 seconds to a minute of vessel berthing.
